Godot Starter Guide

The first thing you should do is download the Godot engine from their official website.

The official documentation for the Godot Engine is an excellent resource for both beginners and experienced users. It even has a starter guide to community made resources and tutorials.

It's mentioned in the docs, but the GDQuest free tutorials are a fantastic starting point. There is an interactive tour of the Godot Editor that's free to download, as well as a 10-ish hour complete beginners course to learning GDScript (no prior programming knowledge required!)

After that, it's a good idea to follow along with one of the "make your first game" type of tutorials. You may have noticed that the GDQuest website has one, but the official Godot Engine Docs also has easy-to-follow game tutorials - one for a 2D game and one for a 3D game. These tutorials can be found at the end of the Getting Started section of the Docs.

At this point, you've gotten your feet wet with game coding and the Godot Editor. Now, expand on what you've learned in small steps depending on what interests you. You can try adding onto or modifying the tutorial game you made, or creating a new small game entirely. Stay small in scope and have fun practicing!
